Many ideas to put on fire for Second Shadow. The Norwegian foursome is introduced to us with six songs where the black metal of Dark Throne and Mayhem merges with thrash in a rather articulated corpus. To proof that just listen to the opener “Torture” and “Third Floor Malevolent” which earn some praise without doubt. Good rhythmical scores, likewise positive the riffs, so aggressive and well managed. In the four songs, anyway, it’s also the limits of the band to come out, even if there’s also a good personality in there. We feel also some disorder in the scores of the songs, due to the excessive use of a big number or different riffs (many little effective), despite they’re running in circles inside. The impact and attention often risk to remain chocked under a carpet of electrons because Second Shadow still miss the perfect songwriting maturity. A synonym of lack of experience.
